You don't compete with other players. In Roulette you play only against the dealer. 1 to 8 players can play the game at the same time. Each player buys in and each player gets colored chips. All players have chips of different color. In the case of winning a spin the player cashes his color chips in for cash chips of a certain value.
The "En Prison" rule can be applied when you make an even money bet and the spinning ball stops on the zero. In this case you can either use your bet for another spin or you can take it. If you choose to leave your bet for another spin you put it "in prison" as the jargon is. The 'La Partage' rule can be applied when you make an outside even money bet and the spinning ball stops on the zero. In this case you lose half of your bet and you are not allowed to use it in the next spin.

If you win the second spin, your bet is "released from prison" and you get it back. In Roulette the bets are placed on an area of the
table marked with separate boxes containing individual numbers. The ball will lose speed and
eventually stop in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette wheel. If you play black-red, odd/even or high-low, you must place the
table minimum for each & every bet. Even if you play it safe and bet red/black or even/odd,
casino roulette is a lot of fun. A European roulette wheel has the numbers 1-36, plus a slot for zero. You bet a total of $380 but you walked away with only $360, so you lost $20. Before you can place
your bet on a roulette table you first have to get special roulette chips from
the dealer at the table. The European wheel has a lower house edge (2.63%) because it has only 37 slots instead of 38 (no 00) The United
States adopted their own version, but the French version is still played time to
time in Las Vegas. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1
through 36, plus 0 and 00. That $20 you lost represents the house edge of 5.26% ($20 lost divided by the $380 that you bet) One of the thing you should know about roulette is how the table minimum works. If Red has come up 20 times in a row, that doesn't mean Black is more likely to come up on the next spin. Players
are allowed to continue placng their bets during the spin until the dealer says
"No more bets". The ball falls into one of the wheel's
numbered compartments which determines the winning number. Roulette is a glamorous and exciting game that's easy to play. Outside bet options include betting red, black, even, odd, low, high or selected thirds of numbers. Players often choose the
bets they like to make and stick with them for a series of spins. You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table. if you win, the casino doesn't pay you 37 to 1, they pay you less 35 to 1. After all bets are placed, the croupier spins the wheel in one direction and tosses the small ball in the opposite direction. Four number bets, made at crosses (touching the grid on four locations), are worth 8:1. However, if the dreaded 00 is spun, the House (the casino)
keeps all the bets. A huge attraction at casinos
across the country, the classic roulette wheel remains one of the most exciting
casino games available. The wheel consists
38 compartments with numbers from 1 to 36, which are colored black and red, and
two green compartments with 0 and 00. Once the chips are placed
on the table and the bets are made, the dealer spins the Roulette wheel while
spinning the ball in the opposite direction inside the Roulette wheel. The dealer spins the wheel in one direction
and the small ball in the opposite one. Roulette is of French origin and was first played in New Orleans. After purchasing the chips from the dealer, the player places them on the
desired positions on the table in an attempt to predict where the ball will land
after the wheel is spun and the ball comes to a stop. In effect, this variation has the ability to turn a loss into a tie. The zero and
double zero numbers are in green and on opposite sides of the wheel, the colors
and odd/even numbers alternate, and the numbers themselves are randomly
distributed. When you finish
beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out"
for you The dealer will take your chips and give you casino checks which
you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier. In a casino, the person who spins the wheel is called
a croupier. The wheel determines the outcome of a roulette game. Casino players
can bet on one, two, three, four or six numbers; or they can choose to bet red
or black; high or low; odd or even. All players place their bets.
